Biography

Arcangela di Leo is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Francesco di Leo and Vincenza Tinnirello, who married in 1803.

Arcangela marries Giuseppe Paternostro, son of the late Francesco Paternostro and the living Serafina Gennaro, on 22 February 1835. This record spells her surname "d'Aleo."[1]

Giuseppe and Arcangela have at least six children: Antonino (c. 1841), Vincenza (c. 1843), Calogera (c. 1846), Serafino (c. 1848), Lucia (1854), and Giovanni (c. 1860).

Antonino is born around 1841, based on his reported age at immigration.

I estimate Vincenza is born around 1843, twenty years before she marries.

Calogera is born around 1846, based on her reported age at immigration.

I estimate Serafino is about twenty years old when he marries.

Lucia is born and baptized on 17 May 1854 in Corleone. Her godparents are Luciano Spinella and Rosa, his sister.[2]

I estimate Giovanni is about twenty years old when he marries.

Vincenza marries Giuseppe Gennusa on 8 February 1863 in Corleone.[3]

Serafino marries Bernarda Bonanno around April 1868 in Corleone, per the allegati.[4]

Antonino marries Maria Carrabba on 25 October 1868.[5]

Calogera marries Matteo di Bella on 10 September 1871.[6]

Lucia marries Antonino Marino, a widower, on 23 January 1876 in Corleone.[7]

Giovanni marries Antonia di Carlo on 19 September 1880. Giuseppe has died by this time.[8]

Antonino, Calogera, Giovanni, and Lucia, and their families, as well as Vincenza's son, Domenico, all immigrate to Louisiana, in the United States, together in 1886 on the Letimbro.[9][10]
